Vendor Spotlight - My Porch Dawg

Owners Alan Murphy and AJ LeBret started My Porch Dawg in 2009 with a vision to create a dog treat bakery business offering all natural handmade treats. The company name brings to mind an old southern home with a dog on the porch and a simpler way of life.
While Alan was following his passion for culinary arts, with his dog Abby at his side for inspiration, he developed recipes and baking techniques that utilize human grade ingredients as a healthy alternative to factory processed treats. They are slow-baked with no artificial flavors, dyes or preservatives and come in flavors such as peanut butter carob, pumpkin and fresh breath mint.My dog, Stella, recommends her favorite - the sweet potato palm trees.
Another passion of Alan and AJ's is working with local pet rescue groups. They have helped hundreds of homeless pets find new homes. If you are considering a new dog to add to your family, let them assist you in your search for the perfect rescue dog.

My Porch Dawg even offers special event treats and pet cakes - so, call your neighbors, friends and family over for a Yappy Barkday celebration! You can order online at www.myporchdawg.com, or stop by to see AJ at the Riverfront booth this Saturday or at the Poplar Grove or Wrightsville Beach markets.
Music Spotlight: Dylan Wilkenson

Wilmington guitarist Dylan Wilkenson will play and sing for you this week as you shop the Market. Part of the local indy rock trio, Villa Verde Band, Dylan brings a melodic sound to alternative rock.

A Carolina Christmas had its first show in 1977. Joe and Frances Delk were exhibitors themselves in the 1970s, and travelled to craft shows throughout North Carolina. However, they soon realized that their home town of Raleigh, NC, was in desperate need of a show itself and they decided to start one. Thirty-four years later, A Carolina Christmas Show is still thriving. Except for a three-year period in the early 2000s, when the old Raleigh Convention Center was torn down to make way for the new Raleigh Convention Center, A Carolina Christmas Show has been on the same weekend at the same location during these past thirty-four years. This year marks the first year in the Show's history when the weekend of the Show is the first weekend of December instead of the weekend before Thanksgiving. A Carolina Christmas Show is now the only Christmas-themed craft show during the month of December in North Carolina.
